Located in the heart of Leeds and
Grenville County, Countryman's Gardens covers
about
83 acres (33.5 hectares) of which 35 acres
(14.1 hectares) are used to grow
vegetables
and fruits.
The products grown are sold at
Countryman's Cupboard Store
and are also used to make Countryman's wines,
pies, preserves and relishes.
If you come to Countryman's there is the
chance that you might see some wild animals
like deer, wild turkeys , wolves,
porcupines, all kinds of birds, squirrels,
chipmunks, foxes, rabbits, ground hogs,
raccoons, geese, (flocks in the fields), a
blue heron that comes back every year, often
mallard ducks nest in the little stream that
runs through the farm.
We also have Gertrude and Heathcliff,
which are a pair of big black birds (might
be ravens - but the Countrymans are not
sure ) who have been here since Countryman's
acquired the farm in 1996.
